There is an epidemic of massive proportions affecting our society today. Bullying.
Yes, bullying has been around for years but in today’s instant society it takes on several forms. The most common are Peer-to-Peer, Teacher-Student, Parent-Child, Workplace Bullying and Cyber Bullying. It is reported that one in four children have been the victim of some type of verbal or physical attack on a regular basis and that number could be much higher – three out four – as many victims never report the abuse for fear of more attacks.
The Hudson Valley Anti-Bullying Coalition was founded to let those that are affected by bullying know they are not alone. It is not meant to sensationalize the bully – it’s about the victim. It’s time the victims had a say! It is time we come together as a community and help stop bullying in any form and help educate individuals on how words and actions affect others.
HVABC is focused on giving a voice to a generation marred by far too much hate. To let all those that have ever felt alone or different know they are not alone. That they are the majority not the minority.
Children, students, parents and teachers are encouraged to follow our journey and become part of the voice that collectively shouts IT HAS TO END NOW!
